Three years ago , I joined math and science classes. I was new . I was late too. Not too late ,but late enough to gain unwanted attention from my classmates . I nervously glanced around the room and Sir was sitting at his desk , observing what his students were talking about . He noticed me and asked me to register my name and which school I from onto a long log book . After I wrote , I made a pirouette and quickly take a seat at the last role . Unfortunately , the eyes of my strange classmates were still starring at me . I don't know anyone here , really . I am from a English educated girl school while majority of them are from Chinese educated school . This class was creepy and scary . There is no one but a cute boy sat at the next table besides me .
A week passed , I attended the science class again . I was not late but the class was about to start . still I was reaching to the same seat at the last role . The boy who sat beside me whispered to his friend which a whole class actually heard "that pretty girl is here" in Chinese . I was cherished .When Sir started the class . I realize he was a funny person and kind of weird . Maybe the class wouldn't be as scary as I thought .
A month passed , I had some close Chinese friends which I could hung out with before the next math class after science class . The boy who sat beside me turned out to be my crush . He was funny , nice , tall and good-looking . He tried to talk to me but my friends were always be the resistance between us . My friends did not like him . They told me he was stupid and agile . I never care of what they thought .
A year went by and not much happened between him and me . I would see him at the classes and the recess time before math class started . The more I learned about him , the more I liked him . Our eyes always met in the middle of the class and he always had something to say to make me laugh . He is a basketball player , he was the class monitor at his school and has a brother . He was charming when he wore his polo collar shirt .
One day , my close friend was not attending the class . So , I was alone . I have no one to spend time with when recess before math class . So I decided to revise my math alone . I was sitting at the corner alone and was very sleepy . I put my head on the table and was about to sleep . I could heard foots steps from behind . It was him .. I heard his voice . I was flustered , I wasn't prepared so I decided to pretend like I was sleeping, my heart skipped a beat .In silence , I heard he sigh . Maybe he felt disappointed that I was asleep "Hey Vivian . What's her name ? " He asked . Vivian ? I remembered , the girl who was the one I smiled to , every time when I caught she was looking at me. " Lim Ke Shin I guess " she answered. I took a minute to receive message from my brain . Oh wait .that's my NAME -,- he was asking about what my name is ? I thought he knew . Anyway , he asked something about me . Whoaa . The rest of the year , we became friends we had some random conversation and he came to be the one I wished would appear at the classes . The last day of the class, my close friend were gossiping before the classes started . I joined without saying anything . They suddenly talked about him . He was with a girl . My jaw dropped. I was completely dumbfounded . " He what ? " I asked with a lump in my throat . " recently, he was dating with a girl and blaaahh " ugh I had heard enough . I couldn't believe this !!! He was supposed to like ME . All sign pointed to me . Why is this happening ? I glanced toward the class and i caught he was starring at me . As he gazed toward me conveyed an appreciative sense of knowing each other,I basked in his affection ,however unromantic . That's all it takes .We no longer have to attend the science and math classes anymore as we're going to be in senior high . That means I would never see him anymore . I was glad and also felt regret . I should have told him I liked him .
Our paths never seemed to cross .I finally understood ,
" some people just meant to fall in love to each other but they don't meant to be together "
